This is a sketch and the first coat of (digital) paint on this Chris Reeve Superman painting I'm working on. I'm really having a blast with it, and I'm liking the turnout. I've been working a lot in traditional art lately, but this is completely 100% done in Photoshop so I'm really glad to be working on my digital skills.

Docks Background Pencil Drawing
Decided for this background to get a pencil toned drawing, then I'll paint over it. I just saw it in my head in pencil instead of color first.

Warehouse Battle Board
This is a scene from the second episode of a short web series I'm currently trying to get done this year. I painting this board because I actually wanted to animate it, after separating it into parts, as an animatic for the scene.

Hope for Missy
My girlfriend, Sarah, has an 11 year old Boxer named Missy. She's a really fun and sweet dog, but has had some problems as of late. She's been living with us in Chicago, so I've become quite attached to her as well. I lost my dog in May 2009, so Missy has helped ease the pain of that huge hole in my heart. The last week has had us at a lot of various vets and today Missy goes under surgery as a last effort to help her get a good quality of life back and be a happy dog again. I made this picture for Sarah and Missy last night as I was watercoloring. As a huge comic book nerd, it's my message of hope for them. The Blue Lantern's have recently been introduced into the Green Lantern mythos as a Hope driven corps, so when I thought of Hope I thought of them. So here it is, Missy being sworn in as a Blue Lantern, able to inspire hope in people. She needs as much as she can get today, so if anyone does read this, I would greatly appreciate a quiet wish for her. At the time of writing this, Missy will be going into risky surgery in an hour and a half.

Powergirl Watercolor doodle
I've been slacking off on working in my moleskine book, but I finally did a watercolor doodle of DC Comics' Powergirl this weekend! I've been attempting to do her in the style of 'Brave and Bold' and havn't quite got it right yet. The face is there, I think, but the line work and proportions arn't as stylized yet.

Comic Stuff
These are some things I did in 2009 for a little silly comic I wanted to use to enter contests around the web. Hopefully it gets done! If not though, it was an extremely good excercise in learning what process works best for me in doing sequential art.

Recent stuff
These are my most recent little doodles. I received an awesome little moleskine sketchbook for Christmas so I decided to do some studies from movies and shows, to kind of brush up the life drawing skills. Here's Scarlett Johannsen, Fozzie Bear, and some pencil and paper sketches of singer/songwriter Bob Dylan and pornstar Sascha Grey! (they were both featured in a Rolling Stone magazine I picked up as reference.)
